Regional economy with the specialization
in environmental
management

Studies programme on the regional economy major with the specialization in the environmental management is adapted to the present day requirements and trends creating it connected with economy and protection of the natural environment such as: growth of consumers' and manufacturers’ ecological consciousness, growth of importance of an ecological lobby in politics and economy, widening the range of ecological law, development of environmental goods and services industry.

Graduates of this specialization gain qualifications permitting to develop businesses connected with building competitive superiorities on the bases of investing in rational usage of natural resources and protection of the environment as well as development of environmental management systems.

 Skills acquired during studies will enable the graduates to work in units of environment protection in private and state enterprises. Knowledge on which their skills will be based has an economic, managerial and technological character.

Graduates will be prepared to deal with continuous development and protection of the environment in a local, regional and national formulation. Economic-ecological preparation will enable them to find jobs in units of the environment protection in offices in communes, poviats, departments of the environment protection in provinces offices, non–profit organizations, national parks and landscape reserves.

 Graduates will acquire skills in the scope of:

 • leading economic activity in the sector of industry and services of the environment protection,

 • environmental management in an enterprise,

 • diagnosing, prognosing, organizing and steering mechanisms of continual development and environment protection processes,

 • using modern procedures of management, fulfilling the criteria of continual development,

 • making tactical and strategic decisions,

 • of tools character (work with a computer, knowledge of foreign languages, the art of communicating, etc.).

 Creating students’ skills to use gained knowledge in practice is regarded to be essential. Moreover, in the whole cycle of studies students complete a professional training in the country and abroad in units of territorial council of all levels, centres of crisis management, logistic centres, offices of state administration, institutions of European integration as well as others connected with eco-business.
