The conception of education and the graduate's profile in the scope
of the DIAGNOSIS AND PEDAGOGICAL TERAPY major. The graduate of
higher professional studies on the faculty of pedagogy with the
specialization in diagnosis and pedagogical therapy gains a
professional title of licentiate. During the studies he will acquire
basic general pedagogical, sociological and psychological knowledge
defined in the standards of teaching and supporting it specialist
knowledge indispensable to understand a social-cultural context of
education, upbringing and social-care work, as well as constructing
his own professional development.
After completing professional studies comprising the subjects of
general, basic, specialist and practical education, the graduate
will possess solid theoretical and practical preparation presented
by:

perception and independent solving pedagogical problems,
•
skills in carrying out diagnostic research,
•
consciousness of permanent deepening his knowledge and improving
professional qualifications.
It is assumed that during 3-year education a student will master
practical skills in the sphere of social communication, using
diagnostic techniques, enriching and improving his knowledge and
competences in the scope of practical working as well as creating
his own methodological base. In the frames of specialist education
the graduate will gain qualifications to lead pedagogical diagnostic
and therapeutic activity, e.g. constructing observational sheets,
leading categorized and non-categorized observation, leading
collective and individual therapy.
Higher professional studies on the pedagogy faculty are the basis
for gaining reliable professional preparation, developing the
ability of reliable look at his own professional role as well as
deepening understanding of educational reality.
The graduate of the pedagogy faculty, major of diagnosis and
pedagogical therapy acquires professional qualifications necessary
to work with children and the youth, in this with special
educational needs.
He will be prepared to work at schools and different kinds of
educational institutions (that is school-educational centres,
community centres, clubs for children and youth), counseling service
centres (where, according to legal regulations, people with higher
professional education can be employed), and also in a character of
a tutor in children-youth organizations.
Due to progressive educational dysfunction of a contemporary family
as well as didactic-educational school problems, a role of a
pedagogy teacher as a diagnostician and therapist is increasing.
